ARTIST STATEMENT
The panoramic wall
drawing in this show was made directly and spontaneously on the wall without
preliminary sketches. Produced between Dec.21st and Jan.6th, it took 85 hours
to complete and consumed a quart of India Ink and four Sumie "Stroke"
brushes. This is the artist's 19th wall drawing since 1993. The piece serves as
a visual record of the artist's three weeks working at the Southgate House
Gallery and is intentionally temporary to be experienced in the here and now.
